How Is a Face Lift Performed?
A face lift in Maryland or Washington, DC can be performed in several different ways. Dr. Chaboki will recommend the best option for you based on the amount of correction you would like to achieve and the locations that are of most concern. The procedure will be performed under sedation or local anesthesia and all incisions will be carefully placed to minimize the visibility of scars. Your face lift options include:
- A traditional facelift, which uses an incision that begins at the temples and ends in the lower scalp. With a traditional facelift, fat will be reshaped and underlying tissue and muscles will also be lifted and repositioned. The skin will be placed in a better position and excess skin will be removed.
- A limited incision or "short scar" face lift may be performed using shorter incisions.
- A neck lift can be performed to correct jowls and sagging skin under the chin. The incision for a neck lift begins in front of the ear and ends in the lower scalp.
What Can I Expect After a Face Lift?
