Many men and women in Georgetown, Washington, DC, and Maryland choose brow lift surgery to correct frown lines, wrinkling across the forehead, and an increasing heaviness of the eyebrows. In fact, the brow and forehead area often show the first signs of aging. Dr. Houtan Chaboki performs an endoscopic, minimally invasive brow lift that offers distinct advantages over traditional methods.
Dr. Chaboki specializes exclusively in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery. To learn more about brow lift and other procedures to minimize the signs of aging, request your cosmetic consultation him online or call his office at (202) 741-3409.
What Is a Brow Lift?
A brow lift, also known as a forehead lift, is cosmetic plastic surgery of the eyebrow and forehead area. Brow lifts surgically correct excess skin, bulging fat, drooping upper eyelids, and forehead wrinkles. The procedure can rejuvenate facial appearance by opening up the area around the eyes and creating a smoother-looking forehead. The aesthetic result is a more youthful, relaxed, and refreshed appearance. Women and men who visit us from surrounding communities often combine facelift or blepharoplasty procedures with a brow lift for a more complete facial renewal.
Advantages of Endoscopic Brow Lift Surgery
Unlike traditional brow lift surgery that involves an incision across the entire forehead, the endoscopic brow lift is a minimally invasive method of lifting the brows. Although the endoscopic approach is technically more demanding and requires more specialized training, there are several advantages:
- Smaller incisions
- Less invasive
- Lower rate of complications
- Reduced scarring, bruising, bleeding, swelling, itching, numbness
- Faster recovery

Brow Lift Procedure
Brow lift surgery is an outpatient procedure that typically takes less than one hour to perform. During the endoscopic brow lift procedure, Dr. Chaboki inserts a small video camera (endoscope) into several small incisions placed just behind the hairline, providing him with a clear view of the muscles and tissues beneath the forehead skin. He then inserts another instrument through one of the small incisions to lift the skin and remove or alter brow muscle, if necessary. During an endoscopic procedure, the eyebrows and forehead can be lifted and secured at the optimal height through the use of a new, suture-less mechanism called the ENDOTINE™ Forehead fixation device.
What to Expect after Surgery
You will experience a certain amount of swelling and bruising for the first week or 2 following your brow lift. As the incisions heal, you may experience some numbness as well as itching, both of which are normal and will diminish with time. You can expect to resume light activity in a few days and full activity in 7 to 10 days.
Most brow lift patients are very pleased with their refreshed and rejuvenated appearance after a brow lift. It may take several months to see the final results, but your new look will be well worth the wait. Although you will appear younger for a long time after plastic surgery, it cannot stop the aging process and you should continue to see Dr. Chaboki for continued skin care and maintenance of plastic surgery results.
Alternatives to Brow Lift Surgery
Dr. Chaboki also offers BOTOX® Cosmetic injections as a temporary, non-surgical alternative to brow lift surgery. Other treatments that may help you look your best without surgery include facial fillers, fat transfer and chemical peels.
