Are fat injections an option after already having an injectable filler, such as Restylane®, JUVÉDERM® Injectable Gel, or RADIESSE®?

Yes, generally. Fat is a natural alternative to injectable fillers. The decision largely depends on the following:

  • Original area treated with an injectable filler
  • The area being considered for facial enhancement with fat grafting
  • Time interval between the injectable filler and fat grafting

Usually, if you are considering adding more volume or filling wrinkles in the same area as a prior injectable filler, it’s better to wait until the first treatment if complete. Depending on the original filler, the waiting time may range from several months to over a year.
