A man from northern Virginia had a facial scar for years due to an accident. Facial scars are generally from trauma, surgery, acne, or infection. Fortunately, scars gradually improve in appearance slowly over time.

He came to the facial plastic surgery office to discuss plastic surgery options with Dr. Chaboki. While scars can never be completely removed, scar appearance may be improved with plastic surgery. He underwent reconstructive plastic surgery with a scar revision to improve the appearance. Scar revision is normally performed after one year from the injury for the best results; however, earlier scar treatment is appropriate for select patients. Dr. Chaboki spends considerable time with his patients to reduce the unsightly appearance of scarring from trauma, accidents, or injuries.
