Septorhinoplasty with turbinate reduction to improve the severe allergy symptoms of a younger woman

A deviated septum may be congenital or from prior injury. Patients with a deviated septum may have symptoms of congestion or nasal blockage. This Washington DC area woman had a deviated septum from a major nasal injury, which also resulted in scarring and narrowing of her right nostril. Medications alone would not improve her physical nasal blockage, and she required nasal surgery to open up the nasal passages. Scar revision was performed and cartilage grafts were placed around the nostril to help improve symmetry and open her nasal passages.
