Rhinoplasty surgery can be performed for a variety of reasons. Reducing a bump to improve the profile, lifting a droopy nasal tip, and improving nasal symmetry are some of the most common reasons to have a rhinoplasty. Each person (and nose) is unique and the decision on "what" to do will vary. Generally, the best plastic surgeons want to improve the shape of the nose without drawing attention.
As many Washington DC rhinoplasty patients, this person had wanted to improve her nose since a younger age. In addition, she was bothered by chronic bilateral nasal congestion despite medical treatments such as saline rinse, steroid sprays, and antihistamines. A nasal injury as an adult made the nose worse, by drawing more attention and nasal blockage.
She consulted "Dr. Google" to find the best rhinoplasty surgeons. Dr. Chaboki evaluated her nose and face and listened to her concerns and desired results. Examination revealed nasal asymmetry, a nasal hump, a bulbous and droopy trip, and excess nostril show. Computer simulation with Dr. Chaboki provided a visualization for her to see possible rhinoplasty results without looking overdone.
She underwent a closed rhinoplasty by Dr. Chaboki, which avoids external incisions or scars. The nasal bone was shaved, the nasal hump reduced, and the nasal tip reshaped with a combination of cartilage grafts. After photograph results demonstrate a natural appearing nose 2 years from her rhinoplasty surgery. Similary to other very happy plastic surgery patients, she continues to refer patients to Dr. Chaboki for his services.
