Full cheeks are in high demand by Washington DC plastic surgery patients, as it's a sign of youthful vigor. While some are born with relatively flatter cheeks, the cheeks naturally flatten with age as gradual bone and fat volume loss occurs.
Liquid facelift procedures with facial fillers are often the first choice of patients, since it's a non-surgical treatment with easy recovery. Despite the benefits of facial fillers (ex. Juvederm®), these office treatments still cannot replace solid facial implants in terms of projection and shape. In addition to permanence, a 3-dimensional improvement in facial volume is better achieved with cheek implants.
This woman wanted to improve both the cheeks and chin with surgery. She was reluctant to have repeated injections with facial fillers. Aesthetic options were evaluated with cosmetic facial surgeon Dr. Chaboki, including reviewing both computer simulated photographs and facial implants of a variety of shapes and sizes. Together with Dr. Chaboki’s trusted guidance, she chose a size medium chin and small cheek silicone implants. She is thrilled with her natural appearance and full cheeks. As a result of cheek augmentation surgery, she doesn't need to come to the office for injections repeatedly.
What is the best cheek augmentation treament? Dr. Chaboki will help patients decide which option is best for them, whether it's surgery or a liquid facelift with fillers.
