Eyelid rejuvenation is popular among Washington DC plastic surgery patients. A droopy eyelid, sagging brow, excess skin and fat, and wrinkles around the eyes develop automatically with age. Tissue changes with the eyes can be present from an early age, as even young patients can have dark circles or lower eye bags.

No one can “stop the clock” of gradual tissue change of aging, but plastic surgeons can improve one's appearance for a refreshed appearance. Eyelid rejuvenation surgery is one option to make one appear more rested without looking different. Cosmetic surgery of the eyelid (blepharoplasty) reduces excess skin and/or fat to create eyes that appear more open and less droopy. An eye lift of the upper eyelid may be performed in the office via local anesthesia, while lower eyelid surgery or brow lift surgery more likely requires IV sedation or general anesthesia.

This woman disliked excess skin of the upper eyes, which crowded her eyelashes and made her eyes appear smaller. She also disliked dark circles and under eye hollow areas. She consulted with cosmetic surgeon Dr. Chaboki in his downtown Washington DC office to review options. She wanted a natural enhancement while still appearing like herself. Physical examination revealed excess skin of the upper eyelid region without excess eye fat, and the lower eyelids have dark circles from relative volume deficiency.

In the office via local anesthesia, she underwent upper eyelid surgery and Restylane® injection in the lower eyelid area to rejuvenate the eyes. Dr. Chaboki is able to perform various cosmetic facial procedures with similar local anesthesia per patient request. After results are a few only a few weeks afterward and demonstrate natural with eyes that are now more open. She has returned to work and enjoys the improvements. Her eyelid rejuvenation procedures are some of the most common plastic surgery procedures performed.
