Virginia facelift patients often ask about possible alternatives to a traditional neck lifting procedure. Most lower face lifts or neck lifts typically involve an incision around the ear, including mini lifts or MACS lifts. Certain patients may obtain some neck tightening and lifting by reducing neck fat with liposuction alone. This Virginia area patient was seeking neck improvement without cosmetic surgery. Observing too many celebrity plastic surgeries which have gone too far, she was afraid of looking "too pulled." She had considered facial plastic surgery for years, but was not ready for a traditional facelift. After consultation with northern Virginia facelift surgeon Dr. Chaboki, she decided on a more conservative approach to facial rejuvenation. Dr. Chaboki performed liposuction of the neck and jowls alone, without any skin removal. While the results are more subtle than with traditional facelift surgery, the appearance of her neck has still improved significantly and without facelift incisions. Compared to cosmetic surgery, neck liposuction has fewer risks and a faster recovery.
